Ramstein Elementary Mock Election Inspires Future Voters
For many years, Ramstein Elementary School has introduced its youngest learners to the U.S. election process through an engaging school-wide mock election. This year, the tradition continues under the guidance of Ms. Deborah Lowder, who is organizing the event for Sure Start through second-grade students.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, students will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the superhero of their choice. With candidates like Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Darth Vader, Black Panther, and Iron Man on the ballot, students are eager to make their voices heard. This unique approach adds an element of fun while helping students begin to understand the importance of voting and civic engagement.
At the end of the school day, the votes will be tallied, and the winner will be revealed during a school assembly. The interactive experience not only sparks interest in the U.S. government process but also emphasizes the importance of participation in a democracy, providing a memorable and educational experience for all.
The Ramstein Elementary mock election blends learning with excitement, helping students grasp key concepts in a hands-on, enjoyable way. We look forward to seeing which superhero captures the hearts and votes of our young electorate this year!
