The Koala
Friday, May 23rd - No School
Monday, May 26th - No School
Lots of upcoming field trips! Please check for any communication from your child's teacher to make sure your child is prepared for their trip.
With warmer weather, we’re excited to see students enjoying the playground after school! Please actively supervise your child during this time. We've had recent incidents involving rock throwing, which has caused damage to school property. Also, please note that restroom facilities are closed once dismissal ends. Thank you for helping us keep RES safe and respectful!
If your child will be 4 years old by September 1st and you're zoned for Ramstein Community Schools, you’re eligible to enroll in Universal Pre-Kindergarten.

We’re entering an exciting time of year as students enjoy the sunshine, special events, and end-of-year activities. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please take a moment to read through this week’s updates and reminders as we work together to finish the school year strong!
Parents: If you are volunteering that day, lunch will be provided for you as a thank you for your support. If you plan to spend the day with your child and eat in the cafeteria, adult lunches are $7.50. Please note that there are no free adult lunches, even if your child receives free or reduced meals.
Be sure to bring cash or ensure your student’s account has enough funds to cover both meals. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to a fun-filled day!

This year we have been working on learning how to use the Chromebooks to enhance our learning. We have learned how to use our databases for research, our ELA and Math digital textbooks for activities and assessments, Wixie, Seesaw, the list goes on... Another program we have learned about is MacinVia. This program is a source for not only our databases we use for research, but also ebooks and audio books that our students will continue to have access to throughout the summer. Ms. Rahe, our Information Specialist, has met with all 1st and 2nd grade classes to show them how to access and check out the ebooks in MackinVia. Here is what she has taught them:
Want to Read Some RES E-Books Over the Summer?
Here’s how to read and/or check out an e-book from the RES Library!
- -Sign in to Class Link using your login QR code card. Parent may need to give the Internet browser access to the camera.
- -Find and click the Information Center folder.
- -Find and click the MackinVia icon.
- -Select Login with Google.
You should NOT be prompted for a password. If you are not automatically logged in, please email Ms. Rahe at: brenda.rahe@dodea.edu providing the student name and teacher name. She will try to troubleshoot the problem.
- -Find the book you want by browsing or using the search tool to search for a title, author, or topic.
- -You can also download the MackinVia app onto your personal device for easier access.
Many of our teachers sent home the QR codes the students use to log into ClassLink. Please follow these directions to see if your child's QR code works at home. If it doesn't work, or if you do not have the QR code please contact the ET at emily.costa@dodea.edu and she will get you the information you need to get your child logged in.
